About the role:
The primary function of the OperationalFinanceDeputyManager is to support in managing the OperationalFinance team.
The team functions include ensuring the calculation, reconciliation and payment of periodic fees, charges, interest and commissions and other revenues for underlying clients from the back-office systems.
They ensure appropriate controls and reconciliations around various operational balance sheet and P&L accounts ensuring the period end balances are appropriately stated for various operational activities.
The team work closely with the Corporate Finance team to ensure income and costs are appropriately recognised and underlying corporate clients have been provided with the correct information per their individual contracts.
Build a continuous improvement mentality within the team to get it right first time, reduce rework to a minimum and share best practice across the department and the wide business group.
Plan for known future events to ensure smooth service delivery from the team and maximise utilisation of available resource.

What you will be doing:
· Oversight of the preparation of client reporting packs ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Support the processing of payments to corporate clients in line with the agreed charging approach.
· Support the Senior Manager in Managing a team to ensure Operational Control accounts on the trial balance are effectively reconciled and work with other operational business teams to provide support and ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the trial balance.
· Support the reconciliation of the balance sheet and Profit and Loss accounts including commissions, fees, Interest control accounts.
· Work closely with clients to ensure their fees and charges are appropriately calculated, reconciled, and paid out.
· Ensuring information provided to the Corporate Finance team for accurate billing to clients and Profit and Loss recognition to maximise and protect revenue.
· Oversee the transition to new FIS core technology ensuring testing completion.
· Preparation, analysis, and submission of the quarterly VAT return.
· Involvement and lead for OperationalFinance on business projects.
· Support the analysis of debtor / negative customer positions and working with Client relationship managers and corporate clients to help them to clear the positions.
· Ownership of error account, clearing down positions and MI reporting.
· Approval of the trial balance upload from figaro into the Oracle accounting software.
· Oversee the credit and debit interest charging process ensuring accuracy and completeness · Deal and manage team to respond to external and internal stakeholder’s questions and queries ensuring timely responses within agree service levels.
· Continuous Improvement:
Identifying areas for improvement and creating solutions that produce better information more efficiently, aiming to automate and streamline systems wherever possible.
· Actively manage and support 1L assurance, 2L reviews and external audit work across the Finance / CASS function.
· Maintain the first line of compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance · Maintain the first line of defence by operating risk controls assigned to the individual · Use the training and competence scheme to maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills, and expertise to carry out the role competently.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures are all time including but not limited to, Code of Code, Information security, human resource policies and compliance policies and procedures · Daily review of all Figaro Balance Sheet balances under your control and ensure that they are in line, investigate and report variances to relevant teams to solve including Reconciling suspense accounts and providing audit trail; Production of Management Information on open items/issues · Ensure data for department Month End reporting is collated and completed in a timely manner to agreed service levels · Ensure collation of Management Information to agreed service levels · Act as first point of contact for team members in relation to complex queries & act as point of contact for the business in relation to operational issues in your area.
· Test systems enhancements & bug fixes within the functional area · Ensure all relevant procedures are documented and updated as required following enhancements · Advise team colleagues in relation to complex queries and share technical and business knowledge as and when required · Positively and proactively participate in 121 meetings and contribute to effective business and departmental communication.
· Treat clients fairly at all times What you bring:
· Educated to at least Degree Level or equivalent in a financial, numerical, business or technical discipline.
· Some experience in supporting or previous responsibilities where you have helped manage a team or project.
· Experience of the different functions within the operational areas, within a Stockbroker and their interdependencies · Experience of reconciliations and exceptions management in a financial services environment · Good understanding of the life cycle of a trade · Good understanding of industry rules and regulations · Experience of Microsoft Office or similar applications · A thorough understanding of other operational areas procedures and processes What we offer you:
